Vehicle Hire

When you need to hire a car or van, the John Darke Ltd rental department will make sure you hire the vehicle that matches your exact requirements.

Eligibility of Hire

To be eligible to hire one of our vehicles each insured driver must meet all of the following criteria.

1. Must be over 25 and under 71 years of age
2. Must have full driving licence for minimum of 1 year
3. Must not have been disqualified from driving in last 3 years
4. Must have not accumulated 9 or more penalty points for motoring convictions in last 3 years
5. Must have no convictions for alcohol or drugs related motoring offences in last 3 years
6. Must not have had more than two at fault claims in last 3 years
7. Must have no prosecutions pending
8. Must provide original driving licence 
9. Must provide original means of identification in current address (utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement) dated within the last 3 months 
10. Not be an Entertainer, Non-UK Armed Forces, Student, Sports Personnel; Professional, semi-professional or full-time amateur
11. Smoking and vaping is not permitted in all vehicles
12. Animals are not permitted in all vehicles
13. Full, non refundable payment will be taken at the point of booking vehicle
14. Each hire will require a £200 holding deposit (any excess mileage and damage will be deducted from the deposit)
15. No booking is confirmed until payment has been made
